This new song was lovingly written to celebrate the cherished doctrine that we have a Mother in Heaven who loves her children. In the gospel topics essay "Mother in Heaven" by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it states “the divine Mother, [is] side by side with the divine Father. And in “The Family: A Proclamation to the World,” issued in 1995, the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles declared, “Each [person] is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny.”... Our highest aspiration is to be like [our heavenly parents].”
